Bluey-economics: Using a Children’s TV Show to Teach What Matters

Everyone enjoys the kids’ TV show Bluey because it reflects our own lives so vividly. In this free, one-hour webinar, we share ways to teach economics and personal finance using Bluey. We provide links to video clips from Bluey that we align with discussion questions and standards. We also include a classroom-tested active-learning lesson plan about the episode entitled “Markets.”

Mini-Economy At Home: Money Skills for Kids

EcoDetectives: An Environmental Economics Institute

This institute combines science and economics to study perplexing environmental issues, and gives middle and high school teachers the resources to bring it all to life for their students. This is a hybrid session, with six hours online and two days on-site at VCU, in with a field trip to Maymont. This institute is in partnership with Maymont’s education staff and award-winning science and economics teachers.
