A Central Virginia native, Amy has served as a teacher, gifted program coordinator, instructional designer, and professional development leader. Her work has ranged from integrating economic and financial literacy projects into middle school curricula to leading large-scale training initiatives for educators and professionals across the state. With expertise in curriculum design, program growth, and educator engagement, Amy has consistently advanced learning through creative, standards-aligned programming that reaches diverse learners

In her new role at VCEE, Amy will lead and expand some of Virginia’s most impactful economic and financial education programs, including Mini-Economy Market Day, Reading Makes Cents, The Stock Market Game™, the Virginia Challenges in Economics & Personal Finance, the Virginia Economic Educator Awards, and the Virginia Personal Finance Teacher Fellowship Program. She will work closely with educators, school divisions, and VCEE’s university-based Centers for Economic Education to strengthen access to these programs statewide—especially in underserved schools and communities.

Amy’s responsibilities will include:

• Designing strategies to grow program participation across Virginia, ensuring equity and access for all students.
• Supporting educators through professional development, coaching, and implementation guidance.
• Overseeing program life cycles, from planning and execution to data-driven evaluation and improvement.
• Serving as a primary point of contact for teachers, school divisions, and partners to foster strong community and statewide engagement

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family exploring Virginia’s history and nature—or getting lost in a good book. She looks forward to bringing her passion for learning, innovation, and student success to advance VCEE’s mission of preparing Virginia’s K–12 students for lifelong financial and economic well-being.
