RICHMOND, VA—The Virginia Council on Economic Education is pleased to announce the 2021 winners of the J. Curtis Hall Award and the Community Partnership Award:

  • The J. Curtis Hall Award was presented to Dr. William C. Wood.
  • The Community Partnership Award co-presented to Truist Charitable Fund and Truist Foundation; and First Lady Pamela Northam and Virginia529.

Both award winners were announced at a quarterly virtual board meeting which took place on December 14, 2021. Named for one of the co-founders of Virginia Council on Economic Education, the J. Curtis Hall Award is presented annually to an individual who has made sustained contributions to economic and financial literacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Individuals to be considered for this award must have provided outstanding service. Dr. Hall served an amazing forty years on the VCEE Board of Directors, building an organization that prepares Virginia’s K-12 teachers to skillfully teach economics and personal finance to young growing minds.

The Virginia Council on Economic Education’s Community Partnership Award is presented annually to an individual or organization who has promoted the importance of economic and financial literacy in Virginia.
