Jun 12, 2023 - Jul 28, 2023
All Day
Grade Level: High School
Potential Recertification Credits: 30
This asynchronous institute will focus on identifying the content of the AP Economics exams (Micro and Macro) as well as approaches to teaching the course content and preparing students for the AP Economics exams. The workshop will be interactive and emphasize the desired information and content identified by participants. Recent changes to the exams and a mock exam grading will be included.
Participants receive a number of resources for use in the classroom including a Virtual Economics 4.5 flash drive with over 1,400 activity-based lessons searchable by grade and topic, 51 key economic concepts, and a glossary with over 500 terms. ($160 value)
In addition, virtual “office hour” times will be offered to synchronously discuss methods of instruction and best practices to ensure students are adequately prepared to master the AP Economics content.
Please Note: The AP institute will help you understand the course and exam and provide lots of resources for teaching the class. The only thing you need to do to be “qualified” to teach a AP course is to have your course approved through the college board course audit. The workshop will address how to do that.
