Did you know there is an academic journal that wants to elevate the voices and research of economic educators just like you?

The Journal of Economics Teaching (JET) is a peer-reviewed, economics pedagogy journal devoted exclusively to transmitting innovative teaching ideas to educators of economics at ALL levels.

Dr. Brian O’Roark will join us to discuss how K-12 educators can engage with and get published in JET.

Dr. O’Roark will also discuss JET’s Symposium on Economics Teaching (SET) that will be held right here in Virginia in Summer 2024!

A word of warning – JET SET is a different kind of conference put on by a different kind of journal.  This is a conference where learning outcomes and teaching innovations take center stage.  Each session is designed with a set of learning outcomes in mind so that you can immediately apply them to your classroom.

About Dr. O’Roark
Brian O’Roark is currently University Professor of economics at Robert Morris University.  He received his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. Along with being the author of dozens of scholarly articles, his textbook, Essentials of Economics, is now in its second edition in 2021, and his book Why Superman Doesn’t Take Over the World: What Superheroes Can Tell Us About Economics is available from Amazon and other fine booksellers.  O’Roark also serves as the editor for the Journal of Economics Teaching.  He has won the Mid-Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration Innovative Teaching Award and at Robert Morris he was awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Innovation Award and the President’s Award for Outstanding Teaching.  In his spare time, he enjoys running, reading comics and gardening.
