From cell phones to Movie Prices, this workshop combines math and economics in a way that is relevant to your students’ everyday lives, putting an end to the age-old question, “Why do I need to learn this?” Teachers will become better equipped to empower students as effective savers, investors, consumers, producers, and informed citizens while reinforcing the mathematics and social studies economic SOLs. This hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to classroom instruction is sure to enhance student interest, comprehension, and retention.
Curriculum, dinner, and door prizes are included. Lessons covered in this session can help Mini-Economy teachers expand their program.
