During this FREE hands-on workshop, Kate Scott, the Associate Director of the Center for Economic Education at George Mason University,  will delve into all the ways to integrate The Stock Market GameTM into your existing classroom curriculum.

A former high school teacher and DECA advisor,  Kate will introduce teachers to The Stock Market GameTM a real-world, hands-on learning program where students collaborate to research, grow and manage their own online, virtual investment portfolios.  Adaptable for a range of grade levels from 4th to 12th, The Stock Market GameTM is a cross-curricular enrichment for Math, English, Social Studies, CTE and Economics & Personal Finance.

Kate will introduce several new Performance-Based Assessments designed to integrate with The Stock Market Game and she will guide a discussion about using The Stock Market Game™ to teach students about investing in companies that are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

While this Workshop is open to teachers Grades 4 to 12, Kate will specifically explore strategies and activities to help students master both saving and investment which are core elements of the Economics & Personal Finance high school course and the related W!SE Financial Literacy Certification.  Kate will also introduce how teachers can request industry expert speakers for their classrooms via the Invest it Forward program and how to participate in InvestWrite, a national essay contest.
