With funding provided by the Virginia Bankers Education Foundation and banks in your area, we are glad to provide eight travel stipends to support eligible teachers to attend  comprehensive professional development at any of the programs listed below and found here on VCEE’s website.  On a first come, first served basis, a $300 stipend will be provided to teachers to attend a  one – two day program and $500 for a program of three or more days.

K-12 teachers from the following school divisions are eligible to apply by registering on this website:  Lee County; Wise County;  Buchanan County; Russell County; City of Bristol; Washington County; Scott County; City of Norton; Dickenson County; Tazewell County; Smyth County.

You will be notified within 24 hours if you are among the eight teachers.  A check will be sent to you after you complete the program.

June 24 to 28              Personal Finance. Held in Chesapeake. Conducted by ODU.
June 25 to 27              Part A Economics. Held in Fairfax.  Conducted by GMU and VCU.
June 28 &  July 1-2   Part B Economics. Held in Fairfax.  Conducted by GMU and VCU.
Aug 5 to 9                     Personal Finance. Held in Prince William. Conducted by GMU.

Entrepreneurship Institutes for Middle and High School Teachers

March 2-18   Held in Roanoke. Conducted by VA Tech.
June 17-21   Held in Harrisonburg. Conducted by JMU.
July 8-11      Held in Lynchburg. Conducted by University of Lynchburg.
July 15-18    Held in Stafford. Conducted by UMW and GMU.
Aug 7, 8, 9 & 12  Held in VA Beach. Conducted by ODU.

For Elementary School Teachers

June 6 to 7    K-3 Economics.  Held in Lynchburg.  Conducted by University of Lynchburg.
July 16 to 18       Mini-Economy.  Held in Richmond.  Conducted by VCU.
July 25 to 26       K-3 Economics.  Held in Virginia Beach. Conducted by ODU.

One Day Programs

June 18     Performance Based Assessments Across K-12 Subjects: Essential Skills in Economics.  Held in Lynchburg. Conducted by University of Lynchburg.
August 2     Personal Finance Teacher Forum. Held in Richmond. Conducted by VCU.

Fee: NO CHARGE


Additional Information:

Once notified that you will receive a travel stipend, you must register for the eligible institute you plan to attend. In some cases, a refundable deposit may be required. It will be returned to you uncashed upon completion of the program.
