The issues surrounding the federal budget, national debt, Social Security, Medicare, the Federal Reserve, and budget deficits are complex, but not beyond the reach of middle and high school students.  In this workshop, teachers will learn how to help students think critically about public policy in these areas and others using economic reasoning.  With a focus on inquiry and research, this curriculum explores 15 topics.  Through it, students learn to articulate their own views by evaluating primary and secondary sources, engaging in group activities and discussions, and building their reasoning and writing skills.

Refreshments and curriculum included.
