The Virginia Economic Educator Awards recognize educators from around Virginia who have demonstrated excellence, creativity and innovation in teaching economics and personal finance.

GRADES K-12

The Virginia Economics & Personal Finance Challenge is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance and economic literacy by competing with other students across the state.

GRADES 9-12

The Stock Market Game™ is a comprehensive economics and personal finance education program. Small student teams of 2-4 students, compete for awards by investing $100,000 in a virtual portfolio.

Reading Makes Cents is a statewide reading challenge for all elementary schools designed to introduce basic financial concepts to K-5 students. All Virginia elementary school librarians are invited to complete a simple application in order to bring Reading Makes Cents to your school courtesy of Virginia529

GRADES K-8

A Mini-Economy is a flexible and customizable classroom program that usually it runs for weeks or even months. In a classroom mini-economy, students have classroom jobs, earn play money, make spending and saving decisions, shop at the class store, and even start a classroom business.

GRADES K-5

This cohort of highly-qualified Personal Finance Teacher Fellows will offer personal finance professional development and resources to other teachers in their school, school division, or region. In this way, the VCEE can dedicate more personal finance resources where they will have a meaningful impact.
