The Virginia Economics & Personal Finance Challenges are an opportunity for students to demonstrate their content knowledge of personal finance and economics by competing with other students across the state and the nation.

The Stock Market Game™
The Stock Market Game™ is a comprehensive economics and personal fi nance education program. Small student teams of 2-4 students, collaborate by investing $100,000 to create a virtual portfolio. Teams compete for state and regional awards.

Reading Makes Cents
Reading Makes Cents is a statewide reading challenge for all elementary and middle schools designed to introduce basic financial concepts to K-8 students. All Virginia elementary and middle school librarians are invited to complete a simple application in order to bring Reading Makes Cents to your school courtesy of SOAR Virginia and Invest529.

Mini-Economy Classroom Start-Up Experience
A Mini- Economy is a fl exible and customizable project-based classroom program that usually runs for weeks or even months. In a classroom mini-economy, students have classroom jobs, earn classroom-created money, make spending and saving decisions, shop at the class store, and even start a classroom business.

Virginia Personal Finance Teacher Fellowship Program
This cohort of highly-qualified Personal Finance Teacher Fellows offer personal finance professional development and resources to other teachers in their school, school division, or region. In this way, the VCEE dedicates more personal finance resources where they will have a meaningful impact.
