A conference session at the National Council for the Social Studies’ academic forum. Concerning Stephen Day and co-authors’ recent publication of this edited book. Dr. Day shared his research findings concerning the creation of authentic assessments in classroom mini-economies in Virginia. He showed attendees how they could create similar assessments, and demonstrated the importance of economic thinking for young people. He also fielded tough questions about methodology and the discipline of economics.
