Market Day is the culminating event in a classroom Mini-Economy, in which teachers turn their classrooms into little economies. In these, students have jobs, earn an income, save for goals, buy things at the classroom store, and set up their businesses.

Market Day is open to all classes of teachers who have attended a Mini-Economy training session. The dates for this year’s sessions are here (click links for info):

You can view past editions of Market Day here (photos) and here (VCEE news) and here (Richmond Times-Dispatch).

Market Day is made possible through the partnership of Henrico County Public Schools and Virginia Credit Union.

Fee: NO CHARGE

Additional Information:

Participating schools are responsible for transporting students to the venue. When you sign up and come to the training, VCEE will send you more information about the day-of logistics, including a timeline.

Space at Market Day is limited. Sign up is first come first serve, so register as soon as you can. Please reach out to Stephen Day (shday@vcu.edu) if you are planning on bringing multiple teachers from your school.

Reminder: you must attend a mini-economy training (linked above) in order to have your class attend Market Day.
