Reading Makes Cents is a K-5 financial literacy program sponsored by Virginia 529 and the Virginia Council on Economic Education that provides library-bound books and student recognition for elementary school libraries at no financial cost.  Attendees will be introduced to the three 2022-2023 titles: “Hurricane”, “Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle” and “Wilma’s Way Home: The Life of Wilma Mankiller.”  They will also learn how to participate in the program and receive access to related lesson plans and activities.
