Get your students excited about learning Economics! Teams of students are given a hypothetical $100,000 to buy and sell stocks on the New York Stock Exchange. Students learn to develop team strategies, make decisions, and become informed about investment and economic terms. They also learn to see the connection between world events and their impact on the economy.
This workshop will give you the tools to teach the Civics and Economics standards of scarcity, supply and demand, decision-making, the role of government in a market economy, characteristics of a market economy, types of business organizations, and fiscal responsibility – all through the excitement of the Stock Market Game.
Curriculum and lunch are provided. No prior knowledge of the stock market is necessary.
This session is exclusively for Norfolk Public School teachers and has been generously funded by Union Bank and Trust.
Fee: NO CHARGE
