April is financial literacy month! In Virginia, we can celebrate being a leader in economic and financial education, according to the recent Survey of the States. VCEE has just hosted a bursting-at-the-seams Mini-Economy Market Day with 1,250 3rd-5th grade entrepreneurs, learning economic concepts everyday in their classrooms. In mid-April, we’ll be awed by high school students competing in the statewide Governor’s Challenge in Economics and Personal Finance, where a record 3,350 students competed in the online portion of the program. So even though April is a special month to recognize financial literacy, VCEE works every day to provide teachers and students with the resources they need — to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
